Puerto Penasco, or "Rocky Point" as it is commonly referred to by us gringos is one of the fastest growing tourist hot spots in all of Mexico. Rocky Point, which is less than 60 miles south of the border or just a short 3 1/2 hour drive from both Phoenix and Tucson is entering into the high-end vacation destination category currently captured by Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco.

A recent study by the Mexican Secretariat of Urban Infrastructure and Ecology (SIUE) indicates that "Rocky Point" is projected to grow from its current population base of 40,000 to 170,000 residents over the next three years, and demand for accommodations, including hotel rooms, villas and condos, will rise from 9,326 to more than 64,000.

With the new International Airport and a new Coastal highway both opening up the end of this year expectations are high that property values will soar once again. Imagine a beachfront condo on the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez for starting at under $200K. A dream for some but many visitors each month make this their reality and invest for the future.
