Update - August 2008

Construction continues to progress. The first runway is complete and in fact was used several months ago for all of the Govenors to land thier Jets to attend the annual Govenors convention held this year in Puerot Penasco. The Terminal building is under construction and should be operational sometimein 2009.

Aero Mexico begins Non-stop service from Hermosillo to Puerto Peñasco.

International Flights to begin!!

On October 23rd, Aeromexico will begin the first regulary scheduled international flight between L.A. International airport direct into Puerto Peñasco.

The Airport is to be located near the Mayan Resort about 15 minutes South of Rocky Point. This International Airport will allow all our winter visters form near and far direct access to Rocky Point and increase Rocky Point popularity as a tourist destination. 

The planned airport will rival the size of the Tucson airport in Arizona and the $50 million International airport will accommodate large passenger planes.
