2008 Coastal Highway

Update August 2008.

Work continues to progress on the highly anticipated Coastal Highway (Carretera Costera). The 83 miles segment linking El Golfo to Rocky Point is still between 85% and 90% complete. Progress is slow but it is still progressing. There is around 46km from Rocky Point towards El Golfo and another 50+km heading from El Golfo towards Rocky Point and a section in between as well that is complete. The entire length of the freeway has been surveyed and staked with most of it having the first excavation preformed. There are many more km with the subsurface complete and new asphalt is being added daily.
